This picture of hot chocolate looks better than my set up but it doesn’t taste as good and it has way more calories. The Detoxinista has an awesome recipe for homemade hot chocolate that is: dairy free, vegan and paleo friendly, naturally sweetened, low fat, and simple to make. It is the perfect combination of warmth and sweetness I need for this Friday night cuddled up with my laptop. It’s a great addition to your holiday snacks without the guilt or inflammation. Enjoy!!

Vegan Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:
-1 cup almond milk (store-bought or homemade) *I love the sweetness that coconut milk adds
-1 tablespoon raw cacao powder
-1 Tablespoon pure maple syrup
-1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
-Pinch of sea salt
*I also added one drop of peppermint essential oil for the peppermint flavor.
Mix all ingredients in a small pot and heat until desired temperature is reached, and you can add SoDelicious Dairy free Coco Whip for a delicious topping.
**Want it to be sugar-free? Replace the maple syrup with your favorite sugar-free alternative.
