Often when you are diagnosed with any disease there is an initial feeling of isolation and feeling misunderstood by other people who don’t understand your diagnosis or your disease. Two friends who were both diagnosed with chronic illnesses, lyme disease and lupus, decided to start a photography project to help those living with diseases realize that they are not alone and do not have to suffer in silence.
“Both girls spent much of their time attempting to push their conditions into the background, refusing to allow their private struggles to compromise an outwardly ‘normal’ appearance. But now they have joined forces in an effort to make life easier for all those who struggle with chronic illnesses.
